The MSU Alumni Club of Metro Chicago had its annual dinner and fundraiser at Architectural Artifacts. About 125 people attended the auction which was stocked with many, many great donations for the MSU Alumni Club and the Chicago Spartans

The entrance to Architectural Artifacts, you should see this place, you’ll see more in a minute.

The entrance, stairway and 3 floors at AA. The event was held on the first floor but guests are allowed to roam all 3 floors of marvelous antiques, architectural details and fixtures.

One of the artifacts was an accurate mini Eiffel Tower made out of steel, actually its a museum piece, and they let us use it for some fun photos.

Bidding has begun, and became quite busy during the silent auction.

Cate McGinn – Managing Counsel McDonald’s Corporation, Meryl McGinn and Kellin McGinn

Just one section of one of the floors of historical and antiquated furniture and doo-dads. Most of it was truly unique and old world looking.

The party lasted until at least 11:30, that’s when I left. ;+)

Matt Schneider played with the Jason Stein Quintet and some beautiful jazz it was too! Jason can be reached at jasonstein33@yahoo.com

SpartyBall in the Windy City 2009

Welcome to SpartyBall 2009! It is your presence and support that allows the MSU Alumni Club of Metro Chicago to host this annual fundraiser. We are proud to honor our area’s distinguished alumnus for their leadership and their contributions to the community. We are thrilled that through your camaraderie and generosity, all of us together can make a difference in the lives of young MSU students.

Your participation tonight, while social in nature, has a broader reach by helping the MSU Alumni Club of Metro Chicago showcase our largest fundraiser of the year as a model event. Other regional, national and international clubs can follow our lead to increase their own community involvement. By supporting SpartyBall 2009, you are extending the reach of the MSU Alumni Association, which also fulfills one of our club’s main purposes.

It is our mission to promote membership in the Alumni Association, foster alumni involvement in the University through development, student recruitment, legislative advocacy and career placement, and act as general extension of the University in the Chicago Metropolitan area. In 2006, the MSU Alumni Club of Metro Chicago launched a new scholarship to benefit a student from metropolitan Chicago. This new scholarship is in addition to the Leslie B. Rout scholarship, which is awarded based on merit. Your contributions tonight will go directly to our scholarship fund and we are so very grateful for your support.

Please enjoy the evening and know that you are making a valuable difference by promoting our endowment and by strengthening your ties to Michigan State University.
We appreciate you and hope that you all have a ball!
