Indre and Jim held their ceremony in Chicago’s Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, where the amazing frescoes made for wonderful wide-angle opportunities. Afterwards, we headed to Buckingham Fountain and the breakwater by Adler Planetarium for two classic Chicago backdrops.

What a big wonderful family and get together for Mother’s Day in Winnetka. There were also some relatives from Greece to help celebrate and brought from Greece some home made Spanikopita in addition to the dinner of home cooked Greek chicken. Dena and Elizabeth, on the right, are brides who I photographed and Elizabeth and Steve especially were among my very first wedding clients. I am very proud of this photo, we waited a long time for this.

This is a group of painters that paints in “plein air”, in the open air, summer and winter, they go to an outdoor location every week and paint the town, so to speak. When I first saw some of their work they were refreshing and inspiring, the colors, the texture, are not something you see in a printed photograph, along with the direct connection between their eye and the final painting, it has an immediacy that isn’t available to photographers. There are classes at the Palette and Chisel for drawing, painting, watercolors, both group sessions and individually if you want to give it a try. I did, I think I’ll stay with photography. ;+)
